CHRISTIAN DUTY

Jesus said to share the gospel with others – with Jews and Gentiles.
The word gospel means “good news”. The world condemns and does not accept Christianity as good news. The world trains us from childhood into adulthood to deny, mistrust and reject God’s Word in the Bible. Satan is the leader of this deception and his job is to kill, steal and destroy. Avoid fools.
Even Christians are not always sure of their true nature, abilities and position in life. We must show people what is meant by "salvation." We must show them what brings hope.

Jesus told us to love our Father in Heaven with all our heart and soul. He said to love our neighbors as ourself. We are to humbly serve others. We are not to be selfish (though we must care for ourselves), to hoard (though we must prepare) or to go into seclusion (though we must be separate). We must love our neighbors like we love ourselves. So that means we need to love ourselves, not selfishly, but to let go of any stumblingblock that makes us feel unworthy.

We are part of the Kingdom of God - part of His ministry, part of His church and breathing each and every day to enjoy our small part working for Him and getting to enjoy His blessings. That is the heart we should strive for - the heart of Christ. Wherever we live, we have a circle of contact and we are responsible for those people: first we care for their spiritual needs, then their mental nurturing of hope, and their physical practical needs for survival.

Times will become more and more strained in our country as well as around the world. We should consider now what we could be remembered for - after deeds are done or lives are lost. Will we make a difference and how will we do it? What will we contribute to financially, emotionally, spiritually and physically? We will be accountable and we should try to be right about the things we consider a priority.

We draw lines in the sand of what we will and will not do. What we consider Godly and ungodly. When times of trouble come, we will have a plan and know what we should be doing. We don't want to look back and say I wish I had done something different. But, of course, that does happen in most things in life. But, maybe, if we think about it in advance and we pray for God to help we will do more good things than bad!

If we are to be Christ-like, we must understand what we are capable of and what we are responsible for.
We have gifts from God and we must use them now, and the Holy Spirit guides us daily. Listen. Step out in faith and watch God do His mighty works!

We can see evil and call evil deeds evil, but the hearts of men can be turned and can be redeemed through Christ. We have been redeemed - and we must ask for this for all we encounter. We are a light shining brightly that encourages all we encounter and we bring those people closer to the Father through Christ. If we stop breathing in two minutes, will our last words, deeds and emotions reflect the heart of Christ? By grace we live and by grace we are redeemed. It is our Father in Heaven who gives us breath to live this day. As a small child, we will wonder at life. We will give thanks and praise for all that our Father gives us. We have one brief life on this earth, to give to others.

Troubled times bring people to God and to their knees - bring them to a state of thanksgiving and a time of praise. Even in disasters, people with a loving heart see the good in all things and can be thankful for the things they have left, the mercies God has shown and appreciation for the kindness of strangers. Imagine a strange who loses everything and is hungry - this will bring him to his knees to know God. If you are there to reinforce his faith and provide for his needs, he will know what it means to be a Christian who not only talks the talk, but who walks the walk.

Matthew 22:35-40

Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, 36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Philippians 2:15-16

That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; 16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

Philippians 3:12-14

Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. 13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Revelation 18:4

And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

Matthew 5:14-16

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

2 Corinthians 6:15-18

And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an
infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

2 Timothy 2:23-26

But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. 24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, 25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; 26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

Matthew 25:44-46

Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? 45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. 46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

PRAYER ACCEPTING GOD'S GIFT:
Dear Heavenly Father, I am a sinner and I need you. I am sorry for all that I have done wrong. Please forgive me for being a sinner. I believe that by your grace, Father, that your son, Jesus Christ paid the price for all my sins. I believe that Jesus shed His blood and died for me. I believe He rose again and He washed away my past, present and future sins forever. Come into my heart. Give me the strength to tell other people what I have prayed today, for your glory, God. In Jesus Christ's precious name I pray. Amen!
