CHOICES WE MAKE

Sometimes we know what we are made of. Sometimes we discover it along the way through life. And, sometimes we discover our character through the battles we fight and the pressures we endure.

We are accountable, liable and responsible for the choices we make. Our choices affect other people. Our choices are either in obedience to God, in indifference to God or in direct opposition to God.

When we look in the mirror, we see ourselves and we should look straight on at the reflection, in an unfaltering way and not look down. All that we have done, do, and will do - we account for. If we need to repent, we do it. Sometimes we have to be sorry and tell God this. Nobody makes us choose a certain way. We choose for ourselves. We have been given free will by our Father in Heaven.

We must never deny our Lord Jesus Christ.

We must pray and then choose our paths. We really can't do anything without praying and asking God's will, first. We look for confirmation. When we do something, then we know we are not alone, and we are filled with the Holy Spirit who will guide us. Again, we have a choice: we must listen. We must obey. Blind faith. Not what we see in this deceptive world, but what we know from God. Step in faith.

When Christ returns, we will look Him in the face. That will be far different than looking in the mirror. It will not be a reflection we see, but He will look back at us, piercingly, into our soul. If we are saved, He will look at us in great love. No matter how we try, we are not perfect and not worthy. But, we are loved. Our Father in Heaven loves us. We are saved for eternity. We can choose.

Luke 12:8-9

Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God: 9 But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.

Mark 14:66-72

And as Peter was beneath in the palace, there cometh one of the maids of the high priest: 67 And when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked upon him, and said, And thou also wast with Jesus of Nazareth. 68 But he denied, saying, I know not, neither understand I what thou sayest. And he went out into the porch; and the cock crew. 69 And a maid saw him again, and began to say to them that stood by, This is one of them. 70 And he denied it again. And a little after, they that stood by said again to Peter, Surely thou art one of them: for thou art a Galilaean, and thy speech agreeth thereto. 71 But he began to curse and to swear, saying, I know not this man of whom ye speak. 72 And the second time the cock crew. And Peter called to mind the word that Jesus said unto him, Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. And when he thought thereon, he wept.

Acts 2:38-40

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. 40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

Revelation 22:12-14

And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

John 3:16-21

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
