HELPING OTHERS God loves us, so we should love others. If He loves us even though we are not perfect, we should be able to love others whom we feel are imperfect. If we are to truly help people, as times become more stressful, we need to know their needs. The best way is to ask them if they are doing okay. Ask them if they have any problems and offer to help in some way that you can. If they appear to need food, take a casserole over mid-week and chat for a couple of minutes. It will warm their tummy and their spirit. If someone doesn't have money for a babysitter, you could volunteer to babysit so parents can have a break. If a neighbor can't afford to repair their car - and you have the skills - offer to repair the car. If someone obviously needs money for school clothes for their kids, pick up some used clothing at the Goodwill store and drop the box off on their porch. They don't need to know who helped them. Good deeds come back to you. Some time you may be in need, and someone will be there for you. We can always pray for people. Ask for their specific needs and pray specifically. We can start by listening, but hearing is not enough, we must also do what we can.
