MENTAL HEATH

We are all questioning what is healthy. The ability to navigate life without being anxious or depressed could be considered mentally healthy. If we immerse ourselves in negative or unhealthy news, then we would not be human if we observed it all without emotion. Of course we would be anxious or depressed to hear of the evil depravity afoot in this world.

So, where is the balance? How do we watch the chaos of the world go by and handle it all in a healthy way? God says watch and pray. So, will give it all to prayer. We also spend more time in the Word of God than in the news websites. We spend more time praying than in gossiping. We look at more good than bad. We choose what we look at, listen to,and participate in. If something is not healthy for us, as individuals, we say no.

If we can do something about the bad things we encounter, then we could have a job to do. We can pray for those involved and pray for their salvation. We can pray for God to intervene in bad situations. We can be prayer warriors. If we are strong enough, it could be something we are gifted at.

We see what we are looking for. Are you looking for the good things or are you expecting bad things? If you look at life through an anxious heart, you will see things that make you more anxious. If you look at life through a peaceful heart, you will see good and beautiful things that increase your feelings of peace. Every day, God shows us something beautiful and something humorous. It is really true. When you look for it, you will begin to see it.

God wants us to come out of the sinful world and to be separate. As Christians, we cannot be a part of the sinful world and function in a mentally healthy way. If you have tried to mix evil with good, you know it is a horrible experience. Be separate from sin, try to fellowship with like-minded Christians, and study the Word at home.

John 14:27

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Philippians 4:8-9

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. 9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Luke 4:4

It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

Romans 15:13

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

Romans 8:26-27

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

1 Peter 3:3-4

Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; 4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

Revelation 18:4-5

And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. 5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

Acts 2:42
