THE STRUGGLE

The struggle. God tells us life will be a struggle. He also promises not to let you be tempted more than you can handle, without a way to escape. He will restore and strengthen you. When you meet trials, your faith becomes steadfast and complete. You are able to handle what life throws your way.

Comparatively, the struggles in this life will seem short when we think about eternity in heaven. God says the life struggle is like a moment, compared to the eternal weight of glory.

Things we see in this world are temporary and things we do not see are eternal. See and hear with spiritual eyes and ears. Know that there is another dimension to our existence, more than what we see with physical eyes and hear with physical ears. We can play video games and believe there are various realms or dimensions. Why do we have so much trouble comprehending the world we live in? Try playing the game of real life with God's playbook: the Bible. He tells us the secret passages, the rewards, the way to escape sin, the way to live a healthy life and the way to accomplish great milestones or the way to win the battles. He gives us gifts to use and we don't use them. If we have special attributes in a video game, they are powers or weapons - and of course we use them. We use them to win. In real life, God gives us supernatural powers. They are gifts and we need to start using them!

We may be having trouble with a struggle and we can easily ask a relative, friend or pastor to pray for us. If we concentrate on our problems all the time, that is all we will actually see: our problems. Sometimes, praying for others is a good activity. If we love others and help them deal with their struggles, ours will seem so much smaller. Other people have problems: some people are dealing with incredibly complex and sad issues. They need help. Ask if you can pray specifically for them. Showing true spiritual love is Christ-like, making us feel wholesome, and the person we are helping will be encouraged.

1 Corinthians 10:13

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

1 Peter 5:10

But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

James 1:2-4

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

2 Corinthians 4:17-18

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; 18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

1 Corinthians 12:4-11

Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. 8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: 11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

Romans 12:6-8

Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; 7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; 8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

1 Timothy 4:14

Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, 5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; 7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
