COMFORT
After Jesus was crucified and rose from the dead on the third day, He spent time on earth speaking to Mary and to the Apostles. He told them that He was not leaving them alone even though He was ascending to heaven to His Father. He gave us great comfort and hope, because He left us the Holy Spirit. A person of God - one of the Trinity - to indwell in us as saved Christians! It is am amazing thought to realize that the Holy Spirit lives inside us - and all that He is capable of, in helping us to live a life pleasing to the Father. Shofar |

WHO IS THE HOLY SPIRIT? The Holy Spirit glorifies Jesus Christ and renews the life of the sinner when he becomes a believer in the salvation of Christ. He baptizes the believer into the body of Christ. The Holy Spirit indwells, instructs, intercedes, fills, comforts, guides and empowers. The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment. Ac 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness. - - - - - Mt 12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. Mt 12:32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come. - - - - - Mt 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: - - - - - Jn 1:33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. - - - - - Jn 14:25 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. Jn 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Jn 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. - - - - - Jn 20:21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. Jn 20:22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: Jn 20:23 Whosesoever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whosesoever sins ye retain, they are retained. - - - - - Jn 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Jn 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. Jn 14:18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. Jn 14:19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. Jn 14:20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. - - - - - Jude 1:20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Jude 1:21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. - - - - - We have a Comforter in the Holy Spirit - and He speaks to the Father on our behalf - when we have no strength to pray. What a wonderful thought - what a wonderful reality! |
1 Jn 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
Jn 14:20 At that day ye shall know
that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. Ac 1:2 Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen: |
