What could or would we do to prepare...
if we are going to be fighting a serious spiritual and physical battle with evil very, very soon?

If we knew that was the case, how would we be preparing?

If we knew that was the case, would we be afraid?

It is a fact, that we are now and will be called to action, as Christians. What will you do and when will you do it?

TO STUDY

It has been a popular belief
that we as Christians
will simply be caught up
and escape all things
in the end times.

If this is not a fact, many
Christians will be upset, depressed, disillusioned and unprepared
when they have to endure and overcome persecution and more. They could be decieved, weak
or a poor witness.

RAPTURE

Is there a rapture or catching up? Yes, but the word rapture itself is not used. We will see Jesus coming in the clouds and the angels will sound a trumpet and gather us up to Him in the sky.

Does this gathering happen before the horrible Great Tribulation? Mt. 24:29 says AFTER the tribulation of those days.

The Great Tribulation is a time that the antichrist and Satan will torment, persecute and destroy. If God did not cut short the time, all flesh would be destroyed.

The 7 year period of the Bible is Daniel's 70th Week and not the "Tribulation" as so many call it.

IF WE WATCH FOR JESUS' RETURN,
It will NOT be like the thief in the night!

Only the Father in Heaven knows the hour that Jesus Christ will return.

We do care to know a general timeline, because if there is no escape (Rapture) before Daniel's 70th Week, then as Christians - we could still be here.

Christians could have to endure the Great Tribulation, also. That would be hard to plan for. That would require strong faith, strong armament spiritually and that would require preparation of the heart. Let's not be deceived or distracted or weaker than we should be. As Christian soldiers, we will be called.

We should consider what we believe - and study the scriptures. How strong might we have to be, to endure and to overcome? How can we prepare? How much time is there left, to be sure that the people we care about hear the gospel?

And, we must watch for Christ's return, lest He come like a thief in the night and we be unprepared. We have a job to do, now!

Rev 3:3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1Th 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words. 1Th 5:1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 1Th 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 1Th 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 1Th 5:4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

Lk 17:26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. Lk 17:27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. Lk 17:28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; Lk 17:29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Lk 17:30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed. Lk 17:31 In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back. Lk 17:32 Remember Lot's wife. Lk 17:33 Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it. Lk 17:34 I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. Lk 17:35 Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Lk 17:36 Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Lk 17:37 And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.

Mt 24:39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Mt 24:40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Mt 24:41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Mt 24:42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. Mt 24:43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Mt 24:44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. Mt 24:45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? Mt 24:46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

Jn 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Jn 14:28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

Lk 21:35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Lk 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

Jn 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. Jn 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. Jn 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. Jn 14:4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

Rev 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

Jesus was caught up or ascended to the Father in Heaven after His death and resurrection. The Bible recounts three other instances where people were caught up from the earth. Elijah, Enoch and another individual who is not named. These scriptures are for you to study and pray about - no one knows the hour when the Lord returns to gather His people. We know by events that the time is near and our duty is to watch and pray.

1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Mt 24:6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

Da 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Mt 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. Mt 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. Mt 24:23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. Mt 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Mt 24:25 Behold, I have told you before. Mt 24:26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. Mt 24:27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Mt 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: Mt 24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. Mt 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Eze 34:11 For thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I, even I, will both search my sheep, and seek them out. Eze 34:12 As a shepherd seeketh out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered; so will I seek out my sheep, and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.

Da 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. Da 9:25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.
